I've been to a couple services and appreciated how praise is conducted. I'm looking for a deeper relationship with God and think that the Byzantine Rite may be a way for my wife and me to accomplish that.

My Mom's 1st Cousin was Father Francis Duchala. In the 1960's he would come to our home in CT. for 2 weeks each year in the summer with his sister Catherine. We had daily Mass and I served as altar boy. I am a life long Roman Catholic but interested in attending Slovanic Liturgy. I have been to Agram Slovakia in the Bratislava area where the Duchala, Chobot and Radocha families worshipped. I am a member of St. Maximillian Kolbe's Militia of the Immaculata and wish to find out where Father Francis attended Seminary and if he may have ever been at Niepokalanow in Poland. He served your Parish from 1978-1997. I want to learn all I can about him. I am blessed to have memories of him as a child.

Do you know where you got this icon picture of the Protection of the Theotokos from listed on your webpage linked below?

Unfortunately, I don't. It is a very old icon that has been on the wall in our chapel for as long as I can remember - maybe 50 years

I suffer from a very severe heart disease. I have been stuck at home for 3 years without making any little effort, always hoping that the Virgin Mary may intercede for my healing. I have a pericardial effusion and also respiratory complications : lungs and bronchi ... I beg you to remember me in your prayers. Sorry for the inconveniences and may God be with you. Please don't bother to answer me, as prayers are the most important gift, as well as the forgiving of my sins. Thank you very much. Rosa Maria Santos (sick).

I just came across this website because I'm trying to institute the Blessing of Easter Baskets into our church. I grew up Byzantine, but converted to Roman. I still miss some of those traditions as I look back. I grew up in western Pennsylvania worshiping at the Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Clairton. I sure do miss those pirohis?

I have been visiting Sts Peter and Paul numerous times since the middle of my freshman year at Mercyhurst. I find myself in awe at the reverence of those worshiping here that I rarely see in my own churches (Roman Rite, Ordinary Form). Every time I have come there, I always find myself being greeted by parishioners as I try to leave, showing the welcoming atmosphere of the people. I have been coming more frequently this past spring and have decided that I will probably come here more often for my Sunday worship in my next two years at school. I am thankful for having this opportunity near my school to find a new way of prayer. Thanks be to God!

Will be visiting relatives who just recently moved to Fairview in August. Sometimes while traveling it is hard to find a Byzantine church close by. Your church from the photos is very beautiful. S Dean (assistant Cantor Sts Peter & Paul, Endicott, NY)

You are most welcome any time you are in the area. Sts Cyril & Methodius is located in Girard and has Sunday Divine Liturgy at 8:30 am, while Sts Peter & Paul in Erie has Divine Liturgies on Saturday at 5:30 pm and on Sunday morning at 11 am.

Hello; I don't know what the logistics and time requirement involved but is there a chance the web coordinator for this site could include the weekly bulletin for viewing? It is a great source of info for those who want to keep up with the Byzantine church in Erie county. Thanks.

My Dad's family is of Albanian, Italian, Turkish and Greek heritage. My Mom's side of Asian, Turkish and Greek heritage. We have attended Byzantine / Eastern Rite church in Erie and Phillipsburg, Pa areas and in Arlington, Va since 1960s. In mid 1980s I married my husband of German Heritage. We have a son and daughter and grandaughter who have attended church through the years. I travel as a Retail Merchandiser for Store Resets so we attend when it is possible but we always stay close to the Lord in any way we can. Many Blessings to all who read this.

Living in Washington, DC now. I attended SS Peter & Paul for a number of years and am so glad to see so many positive things happen here. Getting back to a fuller version of the Byzantine traditions i.e. Iconostasis, addition of vesper services, etc is such a wonderful development.

I was brought up in SS Peter and Paul as a child, made my lst communion in the OLD church and attended the Wallace St. Church until we moved to Girard to attend SS Cyril & Methodius. Was married in 1970 in Girard, lived in NJ, NY and back to Girard, currently in Erie. Saw the ad for the Slovic Food Festival and can't wait to go back to see the renovations. Since my husband was Roman Catholic always attended RC churches - Loved the Pics - want to go back to Peter and Paul and see the renovations - which I plan on doing during the festival on Sunday. Memories of all our traditions surround me with each holiday. Thanks!! PS: Husband's name is ROBERT and son KARL. The new priest is Father Robert Karl - have been looking for a church since returning to Erie, is this fate or just a coincidence?

Fr. Bob was our pastor at St. Basil the Great in Irving, Texas. You "might" do as well but there is none better than Fr. Bob. This fine man/Priest lives the gospels and leads us to Christ by example. We all miss him greatly. -Paul

I have been attending Holy Protection Byzantine Church in Denver but am still involved in a small church community from Spirit of Christ Catholic Community. I wanted to share the Byzantine Readings with them as we discuss the Roman readings when we gather. I want to peruse your web site more!
